Comfort blanket

Finding a safe space, a tranquil space, a space to reflex and heal. A space where your mind can wander and allow you to dream of better things to come. A quiet space. A space where nature takes over. It stops the racing thoughts from spinning you into confusion, and it holds you still, comforts and reassures you. You can do this.
These images are all of that, or just a feeling, a thought or just a nice place to rest your eyes.

Some of the images are taken in the Scottish Borders, the Lowlands. Most specifically in the forest, around the Tweed.Others are taken in Denmark, north coast. A place that is now a Nature reserve. They are taken over a longer period of time, years in fact, and often when out walking my dog. I am particularly drawn to the mist or fog that surrounds us, like a comfort blanked, gently covering the tree tops, altering, muffling the sounds around us.
The longevity of the project can been seen through the seasonal tones, in the trees and surrounding landscape.
The darkness and more moodier images are perhaps when my Scandinavian roots are more apparent. It’s a funny one as they are all images that brings me joy.
